Introduction to the Ichthys Project, Australia

Northern Territory Industry Capability Network  (NTICN) & Project Gateway

In collaboration with the NTICN the Ichthys Project will communicate upcoming contracting and procurement opportunities via Project Gateway, companies wishing to register interest in the Project are encouraged to register.

Project Gateway shall also be utilised to communicate general information and updates related to Ichthys contracting and procurement activities.

Companies that register through Project Gateway and complete a supplier resume are then accessible by all future searches NTICN undertakes on ongoing procurement and contracting opportunities through the life of the project.

Project Details

The Ichthys Field measures approximately 40 kilometres by 20 kilometres and is one of Australia's largest undeveloped gas fields, with reserve estimates of 12.8 trillion cubic feet of gas and 527 million barrels of condensate and an expected operational life of over 40 years.

The Northern Territory Industry Capability Network (NTICN) has signed an agreement with INPEX Browse, Ltd. to undertake the identification of local, Australian and NZ supply and service industries for all procurement and contracting opportunities through FEED - Front End Engineering and Design. The NT office will consequently act as the lead ICN in the organization’s Australian and New Zealand network.

The Ichthys LNG project personnel will carry out FEED as the joint venture works towards making a final investment decision in 2009 and delivering its first LNG shipment in 2014 or 2015.
